Foresight isn't always averting an emergency. True, forewarned is forearmed - or as a paramedic once told me "prepare for an emergency, and the emergency goes away"...
The other side of foresight is looking ahead and seeing that things are OK, for now anyway. When you see trouble on the horizon, you have something to do, you can prepare.
What do you do when there is sun on the horizon?
Be grateful. Appreciate. Savor. Relax. Recharge. Foresight is clearest when we are rested and relaxed, and ready for what we see.

Q and A: Why do psychics give different interpretations for the same card?
Q. I've gotten several tarot readings over the past couple of years. A couple of weeks ago I asked for a general reading about romance because I was curious what the cards would say. When the psychic asked, I told him my boyfriend and I have a good relationship, but he just laughed at me. He said that my boyfriend was bored and looking for excitement outside of our relationship. The Wheel and The Lovers cards keep turning up again and again, but each time the psychic interprets them a different way. This last time was the only one that was so negative. What does the Wheel and the Lovers card really mean? Why do different psychics give different interpretations of the same card?
A. Thank you so much for asking this! Excellent question! I could write a book about this kind of thing...and am working on doing just that. Please forgive me if I get long-winded with your answer.
The real root of the answer lies in the way Tarot is an art, not a science. There is no standard way of doing a reading, and no one interpretation of any given card. If you look at the books about Tarot, especially the ones that come with card decks, you'll find there are a dozen different 'meanings' for the card. If you change the meaning for the times the card turns over upside-down (known as "in reverse")...then that just doubles the problem.
If there is a card or cards that keep turning up, that is probably a big clue that they are particularly important, and that they have a message for you that just isn't quite getting through the way it should. When that happens I suggest taking matters into your own hands. Read what books and the internet have to say about the card(s). Focus on any common threads about the cards that keep turning up in the readings and let the conflicting stuff go. Most important of all - what does YOUR intuition say? I see a reading as a collaboration between two people - not the psychic sitting there spewing some immutable special knowledge. YOUR insight, intuition, YOUR "ah-ha" moments are more valid and important than anything I could tell you.
As for the general romance reading about you and your boyfriend - I am very deeply opposed to the kind of reading this person did. I don't think that a psychic (or anyone for that matter) can tell what your boyfriend thinks and feels. Even if were possible, I wouldn't do it...looking into someone's heart and mind without their consent would be the deepest violation of privacy and dignity imaginable. Even the pretense of it is unethical, to my way of thinking anyway. My instinct would be to just flush that particular reading entirely.
For the wheel card, that usually just indicates change.
No matter which of the many card meanings seems right to you, it helps to put it into context. What is it about change do you need to learn? Do you resist the inevitable changes in life? Are you too stuck in your ways and slow to change? Or are you an early adopter and tend toward the reckless? Is it a suggestion to slow down or get a move on? The position of the card in the spread gives even more context, and can give subtle shades of meaning to the overall message.
The common myth is that the lovers has to do with romance, marriage, soulmates, dating, all that. In my experience that isn't necessarily the case. The idea of "desire" can extend to anything...people, things, situations...you name it. It has to do with "your hearts desire" whatever that may be...no just lust or grand romance.
Put the two together, and you could get a variety of messages...perhaps advice to change your priorities...change the things you desire. Or maybe you already have and this is a validation of your spiritual growth, or change in values. It is hard to say...agian your instincts are paramount here. If a reading seems off to you...it is. If a reading seems right to you...it is. Even if the psychic is totally honest, and deeply believes everything they say, the message may not be quite what you need. Not every psychic is the right match for every person. It may take some trial and error to find someone that really resonates with you. Tarot isn't always the right tool for everyone. I believe that cards, astrology, runes, tea leaves or what have you are just tools that help us listen to our innate intuition better. It's the collaboration, and the inner knowing that counts.

Little Nudge vs a Big Whack
I kinda like the 3 card yes/no readings.
I know that is a direct contradiction to my philosophy about "predictions". Readings really are food for thought, a way to solve problems more creatively, a way to ease stressful emotions.
The problem with readings and "predictions" is how seriously you take them. Sure they are fun when you are trying to predict your favorite hockey team (the Pens) will win the Stanley Cup against all odds, or that you'll get a date with your latest crush, or hoping against hope that you'll get that dream job...it's all good, until we make big, serious decisions based on readings. It can really ridiculous really fast.
But for just yucks and chuckles, why not?
As I see it, these small, fun "predictive" readings can have a place too. Sometimes we need serious food for thought to whack our lives in the right direction, or something a little out of the ordinary (like an on-target reading) to get our attention so we can learn important lessons.
Other times all we need is a little nudge in the right direction, or a small pat on the back. That's where the magic-8-ball-paper-fortune-teller-gypsy-at-the-fair kinds of readings come in handy.
Readings can be deep inspiration and communion with your personal spiritual beliefs. Or it can be putting a quarter into the Great Rigatoni machine at the arcade. All kinds of readings have value...it is just a matter of matching the right reading with the right person and situation...which isn't easy. People hate it when I tell them their fate is up to them...the future is decided by their choices, their actions control what happens... when all they want is a pre-packaged, no-brainer, easy way out.
When it comes to whacks and nudges, I tend to get Confucian about it.
I've heard that one time Confucius gave two totally different answers to two different students who had asked him pretty much the same question. One student he told to act immediately. The other he told only to act after getting advice and permission from his father. When asked why he gave such opposite answers, he answered that each student had very different needs. One was very shy, and overly-reticent - that's the guy he told to jump in. The other one was impulsive, even reckless. That's the one he told to cool it. It was based on the needs of the situation, and the needs of the individual, not slavish adherence to principle. Luckily, Confucius wasn't a fundamentalist.
So why do I rant against "predictions" yet still enjoy "predictive" yes or no readings?
If the Confucian reason is too boring, think of it as the candy bar principle. The old candy commercial said "sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't"...when it comes to psychic intuitive and tarot readings...sometimes you need a whack, sometimes you don't (and a fun little nudge in the right direction will do just fine instead).
Ok, now...raise your hand if you have that candy jingle stuck in your head...

How to spot your soulmate
Q. How do I know my soulmate when I see them?
A. It sounds simple at first, but this is really a complex and kind of deep question. My answer is just as cryptic...look with your heart, not your eyes.
On the surface, the idea of "seeing" your Soulmate seems to look at superficial things...and superficial nonsense predictions. It reminds of that old cliche of a storefront gypsy "psychic" staring at a crystal ball and pronouncing in a dramatic accent that you will meet a "tall, dark handsome stranger"
Soulmates aren't about appearances any more than psychic readings are about predictions.
Soulmate relationships are about love, compassion, closeness, the weaving together of two whole, complete people who are fulfilled on their own...but who are lifted to something better by being together. Soulmates are symbiotic...the two together are greater than the sum of their parts.
A soulmate doesn't comlete you...they aren't like a lung you were missing. Instead, a soulmate fits your life and your heart like air fits in your lungs, and are just as essential.
How do you spot your soulmate? How do you know your soulmate when you see them? When you look with your heart and see love.

Decide using both sides of your brain
Tarot is a very spiritual thing
It deals with ethics, intangibles, decisions, emotions...but little science outside the concepts of probability, uncertainty, and time as an extant 4th dimension...
So often intuitive work is dismissed or even aggressively opposed by the science community.
At the same time, many focus only on intuition, aggressively clinging to the old notion of fate and predictions, actively surrendering their power to the unproven and unknown.
To choose one way over the other is unbalanced. To choose science over intuition or intuition over science is to miss half of what is going on. The real truth, as I see it, contains both.
To make a good decision, the best decision...about anything, be it career, romance, relationships or general guidance...the best decision comes from a middle-way, balanced consideration of both.
Holism applies. Taking a holistic approach gives the best of both worlds.
This is a logical world, and a logical biased society. Deciding only on the basis of psychic perception means a high risk of failure.
If you live your life based on science and logic and hard facts alone, then you risk emotional starvation. Life is thin and grey without beauty and creativity, and at risk for emotional consequences.
Science does not discount beauty. Spirituality does not discount logic and common sense.
Humans were born...evolved...with BOTH aspects manifested in hard reality in our neural structure. Left-brained logic and right-brained creativity are both utterly necessary. In a world of logic-bias, Tarot, oracles, psychics and the like are tools to help us listen to our right-brains, to help us access the balance and advice the right-brain, our hearts and the subtle spiritual aspects of life have to offer. Tarot and psychic work adds color and depth to life, as does any spiritual endeavor.
Next big decision, use common sense. Next big decision, listen to your heart. Both.

No one reading fits every person.
I drew today's meditation card with the intent that it help the most people as possible today. Loving, feeling loved, the pain of the loss of love...all universal human experiences. Beyond that, the details are what really changes from person to person. The who, where, when, why are, in a way, secondary.
Hopefully this will be an idea that you find helpful. Just for today, let the message flow to those who need it the most. If the message doesn't fit you, please send thoughts of support to those who might need a little solidarity.
Love is universal. No matter how you label it...romance, family, platonic, or hedonistic enthusiasm ( I love cheesecake ;) the real heart (pun intended) of the matter is that we care. We have compassion. We love. We are human.

2 of wands, "actionless action"...
So many times we think of "finding" love. Love fills the universe. We don't have to do a thing. Be part of it...radiate it...and love, in turn will find you.
Obsessing about what someone else is thinking, wanting to predict what they will do, wanting to know with certainty whether or not you'll wind up together...that kind of fear and worry sometimes has the opposite effect from what you want.
Think of it as "yin power" or "power of attraction" ... send your love out to the one you love. If you know who that is, more the better. If you don't know who that love is yet...send it anyway with the invitation to walk into your life. Always love and compassion, never fear or obsession.
You don't have to find love, track it down like a deer in your gunsights...stand, give it and it reflects back, like shining a light in a mirror.

Truth in Fiction part 1
I forget the exact phrase...he may have been quoting something even older, I don't know...but saw an interview with the author Richard Clarke, when "Scorpion's Gate" was released. (Good book btw...fun read) Having written non-fiction before, he was asked why he wrote a fiction novel...his reply was the adage about how you can tell more truth through fiction than you can through nonfiction, basically.
That's true for psychic work too, in my experience.
Remember how Alice from Twilight was a good example of how "predictions" work, the power of choice and so on...
Remember how I said sports predictions are just for fun, kicks and grins...entertainment, just like sports are entertainment? Well, outside of the Steelers Nation they are...here, this is serious.
You know how children learn through play...same is true of psychics. We learn through play, and can speak truth through fiction.
Today's play and potential fiction is ...drum roll please...a yes/no reading for the AFC championship this weekend.
I don't remember if it was something I posted, or just chatter among my fellow citizens of da nation, but someone asked my prediction for the Steelers and the superbowl back at New Years, when I blogged those 'predictions'. Anyway, the impression I got was that the only real obsticals to the Super Bowl for the Steelers would be a team in either dark blue or dark green jerseys. That was before the season ended.
Like I should talk...I don't even know when the Super Bowl IS this year. (Did I mention I'm a hockey fan...GO PENS!). What color ARE the Jets away jerseys anyway?
To be honest, I was trying to make myself believe they are dark green and trying to flog up some pessimism about this weekend's game just to make myself think I'd made a good "prediction" then.
Can't do it. I wish I could sit here and say "I have a bad feeling about this, Luke". "I told you about those jerseys" "It doesn't look good" But it just doesn't feel that way, no matter what color shirts they wear for the game. There is an feeling of optimism that wasn't there three weeks ago.
It isn't a lock, by any means. As I imagine the two team logos, they go back and forth in which is brighter and larger. When the Steelers logo moves forward there is a dotted line leading to Super Bowl trophy (whatever they call it). When the Jets logo moves forward...there is a dotted line leading left out of the vision, away from that logo to something unseen.
See what I mean about so-called predictions and how they can change?
See? Fiction does tell truth...Alice was right, change the intent / choice, change the 'vision'. Yoda was right..."difficult to see. Always in motion is the future".
I still see the Jets as a bigger challenge than some may think. If the Steelers get an iota complacent, it could torpedo the whole thing. But what I 'see' is if the Steelers win the championship, they have a better than average change of winning the whole thing (Seven-burgh? One for the big toe?) But if the Jets win, I don't feel so optimistic for them
Ok, let's suck it up for a minute and go all 'miss cleo' on this and give my fakey so-called prediction: If the Steelers win the AFC, they win the Super Bowl. If the Jets win the AFC, they lose the Super Bowl.
Believe me, that is pure intuition since I have no freaking clue whatsoever who is even playing in the NFC....GO PENS!
The three card reading bears that out a bit "will the Steelers win the AFC championship in January 2011?...."maybe, leaning yes"
Will the Steelers win the 2011 Super Bowl...."maybe, leaning yes"
It's all still up in the air. And did I mention? - GO PENS!
Actually good luck to the Steelers, may the best team win. (And everyone in Pittsburgh knows who THAT is ;)

Great Expectations
I wonder what people expect from psychic reading sometimes. It always puzzles me when people hide information to 'test' the psychic. If you aren't going to play a part, why bother? Would you rather be bossed around and told what to do, or make your own choices? Would you rather surrender your power to a 'prediction' or have your own choices supported and empowered?
A psychic's job isn't to see through your 'test' or your hidden concerns. A psychic's job is to see a better way forward through whatever-it-is.

How to Find your Soulmate part 2

I'm 23 and single. I feel that my soulmate is out there, and that we will be together, but I wonder when. I know we'll be together when we have learned what we need to learn to be perfect together. What do I need to learn? What do I have to do to be perfect for him? I haven't made a 'list' because the things I want are caring, concern, understanding and the like. What else do I need to learn?
Your question shows beyond a doubt that this is something close to your heart and soul, and that you have put a great deal of love and thought into this! In fact, you have very nearly answered your own question, no cards required! What I'd like to do, in fact, is give you a few ideas to think about in addition to what you've written here...things that helped me just when I was in your situation in the past...
Probably the two biggest helps for a situation like this was advice from my teacher Sallie Christensen and from reading Richard Bach...in fact, if you are a reader at all, I would suggest first "Illusions: the adventures of a reluctant messiah" and "Bridge Across Forever" by Richard Bach if you haven't read them already.
I think you are right on the money with the idea that you haven't met your soulmate as a matter of readiness. But what if it is his readiness and not yours? What can you learn from this waiting time?
The obvious lessons are patience, and the importance of the two over the one and all that...
But there is more, and my hunch is that the key for you is happiness and manifestation rather than patience, and compassion for others above yourself...here is what I mean by that.
You "get it" about wanting the right things, You get it about this being about spirituality, intangible qualities, and love above all...
So what's the hold up you might ask?
Two things...first is a last chance, so to speak. Once you are in a long term soulmate relationship or marriage, you are a different person. Things will never quite be the same again. You can't cross the same river twice as they say. Your soulmate and the universe may just be giving you a moment to breath. This might be a chance to take one last look around, breath in the fragrance of the GOOD parts of the hear and now, a chance to be happy, enjoy and appreciate the way life is now before moving on to bigger and better things. A graduation party so to speak.
Another, and possibly more important opportunity here is a chance to learn the feel and process of manifestation / attraction.
I realize you are an advance student, and are probably well aware of those concepts, like attracts like and all that. This is a good opportunity to really feel, know and EXPERIENCE it.
"The list" is usually a first step for people who haven't really come to terms with what they want with the clarity that you have. But that doesn't mean it has to be all literal and physical attributes. Writing the caring and compassion you envision will help bring it into your life as much as wanting blue eyes or something. In fact, my belief is that those attributes are more important than a list of physical characteristics and, because you feel most deeply about them, they will manifest more strongly.
If you are spiritual and intuitive enough to know and trust that your soulmate really is out there, sometimes it is easy to forget the nuts and bolts part, and flounder in the physical, actually meeting part of things. Like Sallie told me once - you are so attuned to looking for your soulmate that you send out an "I'm taken" vibe.
Instead of "I have a soulmate and I KNOW he is out there and just waiting for us to be ready to meet" Try sending a different wish to the universe...send the message through the ether directly to your soulmate (whoever, where-ever and when-ever he is), that you are receptive and ready..."I want you, I am ready for you, please come to me". Maybe try making that list of soulmate qualities as a way of inviting him into your life...put all the caring understanding intangible qualities right at the top, put the things most important to you first...than keep going and include every last little detail.
Then, as always, put the list away, trusting things to manifest in their own good time. To paraphrase: "the best way to make the universe laugh is to tell it your plans"...or in the words of that old Phil Collins song..."you can't hurry love". The universe, your love and your relationship with your soulmate is unfolding just as it should...no matter what the calendar says.
I hope that helps, at least a little. Keep up the good work. I think you are totally on the right track, and things will unfold in time. Be patient with your soulmate, and yourself. You'll meet when you are both perfectly ready. In the mean time, enjoy the hear and now, and use this time to learn the feeling of manifesting good things into your life. Like attracts like, what we send out to the universe comes back to us...those are important lessons. We all could use a reminder of that from time to time.

I've gotten several requests for something more forward thinking, and the element of time is always a popular topic. While I still focus on choices, learning and not predictions, I've designed the "Four Seasons" reading to bridge the two...a desire to look forward, yet not lock ourselves into the narrow view of a "prediction"
The four seasons reading draws one card for each season coming up, beginning with the current one. This gives an important idea, concept or lesson that may come forward during that time, or give you an important tool to help you through that season.
What follows is a general reading with the intent "to help anyone who may need it", so it may be vague compared to an individualized reading. It will give you a sample of the new reading, a taste so to speak. The reading is available by phone and e-mail, for $20, the same price as the three card pathway reading. Since it is new, it is buy 3, get 4th card free!
I'm using the northern hemisphere seasons, just so I don't get confused, so if you are below the equator, begin with fall instead of spring...the seasons are sequential and begin now....not when your spring occurs, ok?
Here we go:
Spring: Page of Swords. One traditional meaning is "faith" Another is 'use logic and reason'...sounds like a paradox, doesn't it? I guess it is no accident that "Angels & Demons" is on tv as I write this. This card brings to mind the many harmonious opposites that surround us...the yin and yang...power and helplessness...science and religion...faith and logic. But not opposites....both are just sides of the same coin. Seeming opposites are just different facets of the same diamond...parts of the same great whole. As with many swords cards, the sword in this artwork points skyward, a reminder if things seems paradoxical and hopelessly confusing, it is often helpful to take a step back and look for the big picture...look for the whole that unites the seeming opposites. I also get the impression of "walk your talk". Living genuinely, act as you think and feel...this will also help avoid or solve problems and contradictions. This last bit is most in keeping with the general meaning of the swords suite: our relationship with society and with authority. A genuine life is easier to live with courage.
Summer: The ace of swords. The next 6 months has a feel of social dynamics...a feel of much talk and debate in the political realm. It is an election season here in the U.S, but this may be more global...thought to be honest, it feels like here we are in for a blast of hot air and empty rhetoric ( the mental image here is literally one of someone with their hair blown back by a monstor's hot breath...like that scene in Ghostbusters...with as much real importance as a comedy scene. Elsewhere in the world it feels more important...like grassroots change and compassion...like more activism in compassion, in global orgainizations like amnesty international, one, Alliance for a New Humanity...that sort of thing. This latter part would be in keeping with the traditional meaning of "awakening"...rumblings of a spiritual awakening will begin...here I see austrailia, the south pacific and south asia...working around the globe until it finally seeps in even here.
Fall: Page of coins. Page denotes work and learning. Prosperity may not come easily, but it will come with work and perserverance. It will be a time of magic and harvest...or magic and a re-awakening of nature...a fullness and wonder of nature where ever you may be. Stay attuned to magic, mystery, the mystic and spiritual as those energies will be high at this time around the last 3-4 months of 2010
Winter: Wheel of Fortune in reverse...usually I don't read into it if a card is upside down, as opposites are part of the whole, like the first card taught us. But I've also learned to follow my instincts...this time it does seem to emphasize an opposite of sorts. The Wheel means change...the wheel can turn fast or it can turn slow. In this case the feeling is its turning will be slow, and peaceful. It feels like a time of quiet introspection...like fresh baked cookies in the winter or a good book by a fireplace during a snow...that sort of feeling.
In summary, the next 6 months seem to be more dynamic, followed by a period of slower changes, introspection and quiet. The seasons will be themselves...not unusual extremes is the feeling given here.
My eye is drawn to ferns drawn on one of the cards and I hear "good growing season"...I don't know if that is literal or figurative, but I"ll take that as good news for lawn care and amateur gardeners!
And there the energies end.

I'm using the northern hemisphere seasons, just so I don't get confused, so if you are below the equator, begin with fall instead of spring...the seasons are sequential and begin now....not when your spring occurs, ok?
Here we go:
Spring: Page of Swords. One traditional meaning is "faith" Another is 'use logic and reason'...sounds like a paradox, doesn't it? I guess it is no accident that "Angels & Demons" is on tv as I write this. This card brings to mind the many harmonious opposites that surround us...the yin and yang...power and helplessness...science and religion...faith and logic. But not opposites....both are just sides of the same coin. Seeming opposites are just different facets of the same diamond...parts of the same great whole. As with many swords cards, the sword in this artwork points skyward, a reminder if things seems paradoxical and hopelessly confusing, it is often helpful to take a step back and look for the big picture...look for the whole that unites the seeming opposites. I also get the impression of "walk your talk". Living genuinely, act as you think and feel...this will also help avoid or solve problems and contradictions. This last bit is most in keeping with the general meaning of the swords suite: our relationship with society and with authority. A genuine life is easier to live with courage.
Summer: The ace of swords. The next 6 months has a feel of social dynamics...a feel of much talk and debate in the political realm. It is an election season here in the U.S, but this may be more global...thought to be honest, it feels like here we are in for a blast of hot air and empty rhetoric ( the mental image here is literally one of someone with their hair blown back by a monstor's hot breath...like that scene in Ghostbusters...with as much real importance as a comedy scene. Elsewhere in the world it feels more important...like grassroots change and compassion...like more activism in compassion, in global orgainizations like amnesty international, one, Alliance for a New Humanity...that sort of thing. This latter part would be in keeping with the traditional meaning of "awakening"...rumblings of a spiritual awakening will begin...here I see austrailia, the south pacific and south asia...working around the globe until it finally seeps in even here.
Fall: Page of coins. Page denotes work and learning. Prosperity may not come easily, but it will come with work and perserverance. It will be a time of magic and harvest...or magic and a re-awakening of nature...a fullness and wonder of nature where ever you may be. Stay attuned to magic, mystery, the mystic and spiritual as those energies will be high at this time around the last 3-4 months of 2010
Winter: Wheel of Fortune in reverse...usually I don't read into it if a card is upside down, as opposites are part of the whole, like the first card taught us. But I've also learned to follow my instincts...this time it does seem to emphasize an opposite of sorts. The Wheel means change...the wheel can turn fast or it can turn slow. In this case the feeling is its turning will be slow, and peaceful. It feels like a time of quiet introspection...like fresh baked cookies in the winter or a good book by a fireplace during a snow...that sort of feeling.
In summary, the next 6 months seem to be more dynamic, followed by a period of slower changes, introspection and quiet. The seasons will be themselves...not unusual extremes is the feeling given here.
My eye is drawn to ferns drawn on one of the cards and I hear "good growing season"...I don't know if that is literal or figurative, but I"ll take that as good news for lawn care and amateur gardeners!

FAQ - "How accurate are you?"
The answer is simple: Accuracy is in the eye of the beholder.
It is all very Albert Einstein, really. The "accuracy" of any given psychic, or of any given reading hinges directly on the expectations of the person getting the reading, and their ability to think symbolically and abstractly.
If you were expecting to see a specific percentage answer by now, you might not like what follows. But if you are curious about how psychic "accuracy" realistically works, please read on.
Let's look at two examples - one drawn from years of doing Tarot readings, the other drawn from science.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again...this is only to draw a parallel between the two schools of thought. In no way is this to say that science proves intuition or vice-versa. Both are radically different facets of the human experience. I believe when we find similar patterns in such different fields, it hints to a higher truth, an underlying reality that supports both...not one causing or explaining the other...
But back to psychic "accuracy"...
One of the most common questions I hear is someone wanting to know when they will meet the love of their life or what will happen in their current love relationship.
If the sitter expects, and can only accept a specific answer, then the accuracy rate will be exactly 0%. Sure, it would be nice, and make your life easy if a psychic could tell you that your soulmate would be waiting at the bus stop on January 14 at 5:08 pm. But what higher purpose would that serve? What could you learn from that? How could it help you make a better life for yourself or become a better person??
What if the answer was from a different, larger perspective. What if the psychic message was that it is important to get your career in order before you focus on romance?
That may indeed be what needs to happen for the sitter (the person getting a psychic reading) to have a happy lifelong relationship. That message might be totally 100% accurate - but if all the sitter is willing to hear is specifics, like date or time...then that reading appears totally unrelated and inaccurate.
Let's take this example one step further. Suppose in addition to the message about career and romance, the image of 'violets' also came through. If the sitter thinks only with fixed, preconceived expectations, the notion of "violets" might seem like random nonsense. BUT if the sitter looks at it from a symbolic mindset, they might remember that violets were their Grandmother's favorite flower...and Grandmother had always told stories about how stressful the Great Depression had been on her marriage.
True, modern psychology might call such associations a little "loose". Personally, I think these Synchronicities and symbols are meaningful and relevant. So again, if you expect date, time and place specifics, a psychic reading is not accurate. If you are willing to see the big picture, consider personal growth and life dynamics, if you are willing to be open to symbols and associations...then psychic readings can be right on the mark.
I promised you a scientific parallel. Remember the example from Relativity? Think about a man on a moving train, walking to his seat in the front of the train car. From the viewpoint of his fellow passengers, he is only moving forward a few steps. From the viewpoint of someone on the ground by the railroad tracks, that same man goes whizzing by at 70 miles per hour. If you could somehow sit on the sun, then that same man would be moving 67,062 miles per hour along with the rest of the Earth in its orbit. The same idea of relative viewpoint applies to psychic readings. In math terms, it is a direct proportion. Narrower expectations means little accuracy. The broader the view, the greater the accuracy becomes.
Going back to the romance question: Look at the reading from the viewpoint of exact date time and place and the reading has little accuracy. From the viewpoint of general advice, the reading has a high degree of accuracy. If you add the symbolic validation of the 'violets' association, then the accuracy is even more convincing.
When it comes to psychic readings, the broader view lets you put aside idea "accuracy" all together, and focus on things like "compassion", "learning", "spirituality" and so on.
To get an 'accurate' psychic reading, approach it as if you were sitting on the sun, not riding in a rail car.

Psychic readings, honesty and expectations
A short, "channeled" reading about not clinging to narrow expectations of what a psychic or tarot reading should be. Being too focused on specifics, predictions or narrow topics might make you miss something pretty cool...
it is interesting the difference that people place on concept, idea, and word. A mental image of, say, a tree, is not that different from the word “tree”, which are both symbolic ways of communicating about those big green beautiful plants. Then add to that all that a tree can mean or symbolize individually or culturally. We all think of trees in the context of nature, beauty, the outdoors, coolness in summer...so many things. An individual might associate 'tree' with a childhood swing, and all the connotations of childhood. Another might remember a walk in woods with a loved one. The possibilities are endless, because the connected web of things and language is endless. If we focus on the sterile generic word "tree" alone, so much could be missed conceptually and emotionally.
Aren’t mental images just as valid as words? Aren't emotions and associations just as valid as "specifics"? In intuitive work, they have to be.
Yes, often psychic readings are accused of being vague, but that is the way to give an idea the best chance of being understood. If a reading is narrow and specific, something important but unexpected might be missed.
