Daily Meditation Tarot Reading - the Chariot

Freedom and leadership are close allies. Both require awareness, presence of mind, responsibility for oneself and courage.

Daily Meditation Tarot Reading - High Priestess

"Cause and effect" can be magical, if you use it to take your fate into your own hands and make a better future.

Daily Meditation Tarot Reading - 4 of cups

"Still water runs deep" - just because you can't see or feel it right now, doesn't mean that there isn't any activity at deeper levels. The wheels of cosmic co-creation still turn, even if we can't see or feel it where we are now. Spiritual principles like the law of attraction don't always work in dramatic or obvious ways. The results are revealed with patience, and in their time, not ours.

Today's Tarot - 10 of Coins

Today's tarot interpretation is inspired by Ted Andrew's "Animal Wise Tarot" available on amazon.com and dragonhawkpublishing.com.
Creativity is a kind of parenthood - you bring something new into the world. Just like there are many rewards to parenting, there are many rewards to being creative, or making your own thing / food / whatever. It is like Adam Savage said at Maker Faire..."we make because we can't not make".
For a few minutes of outright awesomeness and pure inspiration, I suggest watching the entire presentation. It made this geek girl's entire day...

Doing a Psychic or Tarot Reading for Yourself

My friend and Mentor, Joy, has done it again. She really is wise, and a great writer, so I recommend her to you hands-down, full stop.

Her newsletter today (http://us1.campaign-archive1.com/?u=3d2e4805e90d05c3a892356b6&id=cdd5d843d5)  really struck a chord with me. It is a little like that adage "physician heal thyself" And also another piece of genius excellence by Theresa Reed (http://www.thetarotlady.com/what-i-wish-my-tarot-clients-knew/).

It is true what Theresa said, that we readers do (or should do) a lot of self-care...and you should too because you deserve it. It is true too, what Joy said. It is possible to read for oneself...with a little detachment it works well. For me, the best way to gain that little bit of space is to use an oracle tool of some kind....tarot cards, "medicine cards" (by David Carson and Jamie Sams. I've had mine since '89 or so, but they are still around...http://www.amazon.com/Medicine-Cards-Discovery-Through-Animals/dp/0312204914/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337292547&sr=8-1), or another favorite...I Ching coin toss. The tangible results, the undeniability of the card in front of you, helps keep that step of distance to get the guidance you need, not the answer you want.

Do any of you read for yourself? Id be interested to know what you do to keep yourself honest, what you do to get to the root of the problem and the highest and best guidance for yourself when  a do-it-yourself reading seems the way to go instead of getting a reading from a trusted fellow-reader. What do you think?

Today's Tarot - The World

Since when is money and success the same thing? Define success in your own terms, not other people's, and chances are you'll discover how successful you ARE right now.

Just because someone is wealthy does not automatically mean they are moral, wise, enlightened, compassionate, has common sense or is a good leader.

Today's Tarot - Knight of Swords

Silence and quiescence is often a sign of strength, like that old adage "beware the quiet ones". The smartest and strongest are often the quietest because the way they live speaks for them. They walk their talk, as the saying goes, which speaks volumes.

Today's Tarot - Knight of Cups

Sometimes the best thing you can do and the best thing you can say is just to be quiet and listen.

That is especially true of spiritual work and of writing...you can't talk all the time and not turn into a yammering idiot...it is important for teachers of all kinds to take a break, to live, to learn, to listen and to go get something worth while to say.

So feel to take a peek at the FAQ page and let me know what is on your mind...I'm listening.

Today's Tarot - Five of Coins

Our true possessions only exist within our heart and our mind. Compassion and authenticity are two of the greatest treasures there.

All else we need can be found there, too.

My friend and mentor Joy Star points this out in her reading about communicating with spirit guides. Even when we look for guidance comes from within...

I see this inner answer as happening one of three ways:

  • You recognize information as being true, valuable, and applicable...even if the source of that information comes from outside yourself. If your inner wisdom doesn't recognize the truth and value of it, the advice &  guidance goes unnoticed.
  • Your inner connection to universe guides you. You need a connections to the world wide web to get information from the 'net...the same is true for spiritual guidance. You need an inner connection to the abstract, subtle and esoteric aspects of the cosmos to connect with that kind of information. You spirit guides can only guide you if you are listening.
  • Direct inner knowing...the "ah-HA" moment of genuine INsight.

Even when we look to outside for guidance, the connection to that guidance exists within ourselves. Our answers and our treasures are on the inside.

Today's Tarot - The Lovers

The Lovers card is less about romance and relationships than you might think at first glance. It can also talk about desire - any desire - not just wanting a certain love-interest. What we want isn't always what we need. For a happy person, "want", "need" and "have" are pretty close together.
